Bridgerton 3 Review

Polin's Love Story in Bridgerton Season 3

Part 1 Delivers Glow-Ups, Deception, and Some Super Sultry Moments

This review covers Bridgerton Season 3 Episodes 1-4

The romances on the Netflix regency drama Bridgerton usually play out like the burning of a slow-burning candle. In other words, it takes a while for things to heat up. It can be frustrating for some viewers, but it's also part of what makes the show so addictive. We invest in the characters and their journeys, and we root for them to find happiness. That's why it's so satisfying when they finally do.

In Season 3, the focus shifts to Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton). Penelope has been in love with Colin for years, but she's always been too shy to admit it. Colin, for his part, has never seen Penelope as anything more than a friend. But this season, things start to change. Colin begins to notice Penelope in a new light, and Penelope finally starts to come out of her shell.

The result is a slow-burning romance that's full of tension and chemistry. Coughlan and Newton are both excellent in their roles, and they bring a lot of depth and nuance to their characters. The supporting cast is also strong, and the season is full of great moments.

Of course, no Bridgerton season would be complete without some drama. This season, there's plenty of it. Penelope's secret identity as Lady Whistledown is finally revealed, and she must deal with the fallout. Colin is also caught in a love triangle between Penelope and Marina Thompson (Ruby Barker). And then there's the matter of Lady Featherington's (Polly Walker) gambling debts. Needless to say, there's never a dull moment in the world of Bridgerton.

If Season 2 was a bit of a wet blanket or wet frilly men's shirt for fans of the steamier scenes, Season 3 immediately tries to course correct by beginning with a montage of Colin Bridgerton getting ready for bed. The sequence is full of lingering shots of his bare chest and washboard abs, and it's clear that the show is trying to remind viewers that it's still capable of delivering the goods.

The rest of the season follows suit, with plenty of steamy moments between Colin and Penelope. The two finally share a kiss in the third episode, and it's one of the most swoon-worthy moments of the entire series. The chemistry between Coughlan and Newton is undeniable, and it's clear that they're both having a lot of fun playing these characters.

Overall, Bridgerton Season 3 is a solid addition to the series. It's full of romance, drama, and steamy moments. Fans of the show will not be disappointed.
